We are officially in Fall season, and while the rest of the country is breaking out sweaters and sipping on pumpkin spice lattes, here in Arizona, the sun is still beaming upon us. But don’t let the warmth stop you from enjoying the 2024 Arizona State Fair! Here’s your guide to staying cool while soaking up all the fun.
Hydration Stations
Arizona’s dry heat is no joke, so staying hydrated is a must! Be sure to take advantage of the several hydration stations located throughout the Fairgrounds, where you can refill your water bottle for free. Guests are allowed to bring one factory-sealed water bottle or one empty reusable bottle per person, so make sure to pack accordingly and keep sipping throughout the day.
Cool Off with Indoor Activities
Need a break from the sun? The Fair has plenty of indoor activities where you can escape the heat. Head to the Shopping Pavilion to browse a variety of booths offering unique, gifts, and other goods.
Bringing the kids to the Fair? The Great American Petting Zoo is a must-see! Head over to the Agricultural Center where you can pet the animals, give them a tasty treat, and snap adorable family photos. Goats, pigs, sheep, alpaca, miniature donkey, and even a zebu await your attention.
Come down to the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum and feel refreshed as you look at the competitive entries by various community members! From desserts and art to plants and livestock, there is so much to see in the North and South Coliseum Halls. W

Last Minute Tips
Before you head out to the Fair, here’s some final tips to make sure you stay cool and comfortable. Consider visiting the Fair later in the day to avoid the peak heat. The Fairgrounds light up beautifully after sunset, plus some of the best night time activities, like live concerts and carnival rides, are best enjoyed after dark. Also, don’t forget to protect your skin with sunscreen and wear light-weight breathable clothing to help you stay cool.
