Formed in 1984, The Cult rose from England’s post-punk scene to become one of the most influential and enduring rock bands of their generation. Frontman Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy have released 11 studio albums and earned multiple gold and platinum certifications across the U.S. and internationally.

Their breakthrough 1985 album Love delivered the timeless rock anthem “She Sells Sanctuary” and fan-favorite “Rain.” Then came Electric in 1989, featuring swaggering, high-energy hits like “Love Removal Machine,” “Lil’ Devil,” and “Wild Flower.” The Cult’s most recent release, Under the Midnight Sun, earned praise for its dark, atmospheric intensity – proving the band’s fire still burns bright.

In late 2023, Astbury and Duffy brought back their earlier incarnation Death Cult for a series of live shows, including a sold-out U.S. performance at The Theatre at Ace Hotel and back-to-back UK shows at Brixton Electric.
