Arizona State Fair 2024:
A Look back at Fun, Food & Festivities

We celebrated 140 years of Fair Fun, with thrilling rides, delicious food, exciting entertainment, and cherished community traditions. From first-time attractions to fan favorite concerts, here’s a look back at what made 2024 a Fair to remember.

Rides & Games

The 2024 Fair featured an incredible lineup of carnival rides and midway games, including three brand-new rides from RCS:

• The Heidi Coster – A heart-racing, high-speed spinning ride.
• The Overdrive – A car-themed thrill ride that puts fairgoers in the driver’s seat of an electrifying, high-speed adventure.
• The Enchanted Castle – A whimsical family-friendly adventure.

Fairgoers also enjoyed classic favorites like the Giant Wheel, the Zipper, and the Titan, along with midway games offering oversized stuffed animal prizes and nostalgic fun.

Animals

The fairgrounds came alive with livestock, petting zoos, and agricultural exhibits, giving families the chance to interact with and learn about a variety of animals:

• Livestock competitions featured Arizona’s top cattle, sheep, pigs, and more.
• The petting zoo was a hit with kids, featuring goats, wallabies, and llamas.
• Zona, a lamb born on-site, delighted visitors of all ages.

Food

Two new Fair Food Favorites were the Lobster Baked Potato and Spam Fries, allowing Fair fans to indulge in a once-a-year sweet and savory (and perhaps on a stick) treat.

Competitive Entries/Exhibits

From home-baked pies to handmade quilts, Arizona’s best artisans, bakers, and creators showcased their talents in the competitive entries department. Categories included:

• Culinary Arts –  Cakes, pies, preserves, and more.
• Fine Arts & Photography –  Stunning paintings, sculptures, and digital photography.
• Home Arts –  Quilts, woodwork, and crafts.

Winners earned ribbons, were able to sell their crafts, and don’t forget the bragging rights for their outstanding work!

Community Stage

The Community Stage showcased local talent from all over Arizona, including:

• Cultural dance performances
• School bands and choirs
• Aspiring musicians and entertainers
• Martial arts and cheerleading demonstrations

This stage provided a platform for Arizona artists to shine, fostering a sense of community pride and celebration.
