Local Phoenix muralists bring their incredible unique talent to the fair. Watch art come to life as a different artist everyday transforms a blank canvas to a one-of-a-kind piece of art. From portraits of bands to fence climbing goats, each picture will contain something fair related. Paintings stay on display throughout the fair.
Fri Sep 20: John Chakravarty
John Chakravarty, also known as MuX, has been painting watercolors and murals for about ten years. Born and raised in Arizona, he has watched his home state grow and change exponentially, inspiring his art that envisions a sci-fi alternate reality of the Sonoran desert, interspersed with otherworldly beings from fantasy and mythology. Viewers will recognize the familiar mountain ranges, cacti, and animals from their everyday life invaded by radical dudes bearing mysticism and industrial waste.
Sat Sep 21: Shoreigh Williams
Born and raised in Phoenix Arizona, Shoreigh Williams is known for an elegantly morphed, dream-like style. Using mostly Micron and acrylic. Her experimentation with the scribble texture has bled its way into a permanent style. Previously stating “When in doubt, draw it out.” Coming from a family of many artists. Her influences include mother Cassandra Hansen, Antoinette Cauley, Travis Rice, Ivan Lopez, and Khadir Nelson. “Through my work I want to take the viewer on a ride of following their intuition. My work is self-reflection.”

A Michigan native that has called Phoenix home for nearly a decade, Krista’s DreamBox Art is her creative expression at work. She is driven to brighten spaces with happy art that has a big impact. She specializes in making visions come to life through large scale murals and live painting, finding deep inspiration in her surroundings. Richelle Key is a member of the Navajo Nation tribe and is based in Phoenix, Az. Her lifelong passion for sketching transformed her into a multimedia artist, painter, muralist and graphic designer. Through the use of bold colors and strong contrasts, Key draws upon her cultural and personal background to create meaningful art that resonates beyond any cultural barriers.

Paul is Akimal O’otham, Pee Posh, Quechan, Pawnee, and Hispanic from the Gila River Indian Community in Southern Arizona. Raised in the Maricopa Colony (District 7), Paul studied graphic design at Collins College in Tempe and is a self-taught artist in multiple mediums. His freelance work as an illustrator and graphic designer is rooted in his Native heritage, intertwining Akimel O’otham and Pee Posh influences to tell the story of his people and evoke positive emotions. His art reflects the history of the Huhugam and their connection to the Gila and Salt
Sat Oct 5: Michael Stopher
Michael began painting at 16 years old with aerosol and went on a long journey exploring mediums such as acrylic, airbrush, oil and clay. He is inspired by nature, fantasy films and stories and would describe his style as a mixture of gothic, Victorian, and surrealism. He uses art to take the viewer into a colorful ethereal world where they can feel a sense of awe and wonder.

Jason Begay is an Arizona mural artist whose preferred mediums are spray paint and airbrush, and loves to work with organic and natural subjects using unnatural light elements and colors. Jason’s primary art subjects are plants, flowers, and portraits.

Liz Medrano is a Phoenix based artist. Utilizing mainly acrylic paint on canvas, she incorporates bold, lively colors in her art. Liz’s art is inspired by the Arizona desert landscape, the female experience, fashion, and the people around her with themes of mental health. She has displayed artwork in various local businesses, art shows, and art centers in the Phoenix area. Her work continues to evolve as she innovates and delves more into herself and painting techniques.

“bacpac” is an aerosol artist, using spray cans, airbrushes and spray guns. Coming from a background of spraying custom cars and motorcycles in New York City, “bp” has lived in London and LA, where she became a Scenic Artist, painting for major feature films, TV and music videos. Bacpac utilizes the digital world, adding 3D Modeling and Augmented Reality to her murals. She is a very active musician as well, has played electric guitar in several punk and rockabilly bands, is an avid hip hop and swing dancer, and has had a weekly show on Rockabilly Radio for almost 9 years. Bacpac hopes people will come dance to her music while she paints!
