Frequently Asked Questions for School Field Trips
1. What do school field trips cost?
If your school field trip has a ratio of (1) Teacher/Chaperone to (5) students, admission is FREE. Additional teachers/chaperones must pre-pay $5.00. All children are free. Fee will be waived if school is special needs/ADA school.
2. Can we bring school lunches?
Yes. Classes may bring bag lunches to the Fairgrounds.
3. Where do we store school lunches?
School lunches can be stored in the area indicated along the wall in the northwest corner of the North Coliseum Hall.
4. What are the hours for school field trips?
All school field trips must check in between 9am - 11:30am. Check-in location will be sent with confirmation. Cars and vans will park in the employee parking lot, located at the northwest corner of 19th Ave and Encanto Blvd. You will receive your confirmation, check in location, parking passes, tickets, and other information via postal mail after the application deadline.
5. What time do the rides open?
Rides open at 12 noon.
6. What time do the food stands open?
A limited number of food booths will be open at 11am. All booths and rides will open at noon.

8. Where do we redeem the Ride & Ride forms?
Avoid waiting in line by using our Will Call option. Submit your students' signed forms at least three days prior to your class field trip date, then when your class is here, pick up the ride passes at Guest Services, located on the southwest corner outside the Coliseum. Guest Services and rides open at 12 noon Wednesday - Friday. The students must be present to pick up ride passes. Please send your class forms to:

10. Can we stay all day?
School field trips may stay as long as their transportation is available.
11. What is there for kids to do?
NEW! Star Trek: The Exhibition: Star Trek: The Exhibition is one of the largest collections of authentic Star Trek artifacts and information ever put on public display. A truly impressive array of exhibits featuring sets, costumes, priceless museum pieces and props from all five Star Trek television series and 11 Star Trek feature films.
NEW! Life in the Ice Age: From mammal-like reptiles that pre-dated the dinosaur to the Mammoths who shared their habitat with early man, this exhibit features different stops in evolutionary journey of mammals.
Great American Petting Zoo: All your petting zoo favorites are at the Great American Petting Zoo presented by the Maricopa County Fair! Stop by the Cattle Barn for the entire run of the Fair and check out ducks, llamas, donkeys, deer, chickens, pigs, and the Australian wallaby.
The Great American Duck Race: Experience live racing action at the Great American Duck Race! Lucky members of the audience are chosen to hold and release one of four Mallard ducks as the starting horn sounds. Ducks race along their custom water track to the finish line, with prizes awarded to each winner.
